Prepair: Explained

Posted by: GeorgeGSmithjr on: March 16, 2009

I know what you’re asking, “What exactly IS Prepair™ and why is it spelled like that?” I’ll tackle the second half of the question first – Prepair™ and it’s spelling derives from the combination of Prepare and Repair – the two focal points of what the Prepair™ collection really IS!

Almost all athletes spend more time preparing for an event than actually participating in one. From marathoners, Tri-athletes, cyclists to team sports – the best athletes in the world would all agree with that statement. It’s why we decided to apply the Proven Feel Good of Crocs™ shoes and add some technical enhancements to make a collection designed to make athletes better by not focusing on the competition but on the preparation that leads up to it.

That brings us to repair. When we say “repair,” we mean the way your body naturally heals from the stress and strain that work outs put on it. After every work out, your body needs to repair itself. The quicker it can repair itself, the more you can push it toward new heights – bringing whatever personal fitness or competitive goals you have closer to reality. With the Prepair collection, we’ll help you repair faster so you can prepare better…

We can make these claims because we’ve put the Prepair™ collection through some rigorous testing. US Ergonomics, whose goal is to improve human efficiency, comfort and quality of life by enhancing the design of products and the workplace, performed these tests and came back with results that stand alone as proof that Prepair is the collection for the serious athlete.

These tests showed that Prepair™ footwear requires less muscular effort while standing and walking. It reduced peak muscular effort up to 24.6% better than competitive brands while walking. The lower the muscle exertions means a great opportunity for blood flow which will, in turn, produce a quicker recovery period.

That’s not all – they US Ergonomics test results also revealed that the footbeds in Crocs Prepair™ footwear are superior for reducing peak pressure and more evenly distributing pressure across the foot. How superior? Prepair reduces peak pressures by 50.2% compared to barefoot and 23.5% better than competitive brands! This improved comfort helps distribute your body weight over a larger surface of the foot reducing strain on the musculoskeletal system.

I entered the contest and you know who I would buy these shoes for? My husband. I mean we just moved to Oregon for Pete’s sake! Isn’t it against the law or something to not own a pair of Crocs and live here?? He complains at the end of the day and he has a desk job of all things! And callouses etc.. REPAIR is a good way to

…describe what he needs!
