In the latest episode of Grey’s Anatomy entitled “Give Peace a Chance,” Dr. Alex Karev was seen putting away a pair of Mens’ Santa Cruz into his locker. Karev is played by actor Justin Chambers. The episode originally aired on 10/29 but can be seen on ABC.com and Hulu.com. Here is a screen shot from the scene – which occurs about 2 minutes into the episode.

Today, we bring you Tricia from the website OnceAMonthMom.com. Tricia is a recent convert to the Crocs Community and runs a great website designed to make preparing monthly meals a bit easier for busy moms and families. Here’s Tricia with her story:
Several weeks back Once A Month Mom (onceamonthmom.com) partnered with Crocs, “the official shoe of Once A Month Mom”, for an amazing tweet-up event. If you were online the evening of October 10th you may have seen a slew of tweets with @Crocs and the hashtag #oamm (once a month mom). We had a great night with participants and twitter followers wearing their Crocs to the event.
Crocs is “the official shoe of Once A Month Mom” because of its comfort. I, myself, the author of Once A Month Mom am a convert to the Crocs revolution. Why the “official” shoe of Once A Month Mom, you ask? Because a Once A Month Mom is on her feet 8-12 hours in the kitchen cooking! There is definitely a need for comfort.
Once A Month Mom is a website dedicated to making families lives easier by making daily chores monthly memories. We do this by providing families with a menu, recipes, grocery list, instructions and meal labels for preparing meals for their family one month at a time. On the first of every month a new menu is provided that is based on that month’s seasonal produce and sale items. Throughout the month we shop for the items on our monthly grocery list and at the end of the month we cook, cook, cook. All in one day.
Most people are overwhelmed at the prospect of making all of their meals for the entire month in one day. They hear “8 hours in the kitchen” and they leave the room screaming! Don’t get me wrong, 8 hours in the kitchen is a LONG time, and tiring. BUT when you are finished, you have enough meals to rarely step into the kitchen for another month! Not only that, but you can also save money on your grocery bill as well!
On average, a family will save 22 hours or more of time in the kitchen by following the Once A Month Mom plan. When you add up the time it takes you each day to prepare a meal for your family, over the course of the month, those minutes add up. We also save a lot of money. First of all, there is always something in the freezer so there are no excuses for going out to dinner every night. By shopping sale items and making meals in bulk families are able to save money on their overall grocery bill as well. An average entree (feeds a family of four) runs between $2.50-$4.50. That is A LOT of savings. (Think of all the extra money you would have to buy those nice Crocs you have your eye on!)
So if you are looking for ways to save money and time this holiday season considering joining us at Once A Month Mom. A new menu debutes November 1st. This menu will include make-ahead Christmas recipes for getting a head start on the holiday cooking. Oh yea, and don’t forget your Crocs! You will need them!
